James Bing Obituary
February 5, 1940 - September 16, 2023
James "Jim" Bing passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 16, with family by his side. Jim was born on February 5, 1940 to Pauline (Hogue) and Ira Bing. He was a graduate of DeVilbiss High School in 1958 and graduated from the University of Toledo with a degree in Civil Engineering. Jim married Susan Morey in 1964 and they moved to Pittsburgh, PA where he worked for American Bridge division of U.S. Steel.
They moved back to the Maumee area and Jim worked for Surface Combustion for a number of years. He then worked as an engineer for Poggemeyer Design Group in Bowling Green for the remainder of his career.
Jim was an animal lover and always had dogs or cats in his life. His favorite thing was napping with a dog snuggling on either side. He was an avid Michigan Wolverine fan and never missed watching a game. He enjoyed playing golf for many years with his friends and was always looking for a new club to better his score.
Surviving are his wife, Susan; children, Stephen (Kelly) Bing, Deborah Malloy, and Michael (Teresa Porter); and two grandchildren, Kelsie (Michael) McDermott and Conor Malloy; and his sister, Betty McCollam.
There will be no visitation or service per Jim's request. His wishes were for a family gathering to celebrate his life.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Toledo Humane Society.
