To Marilynn and your wonderful family, please accept my condolences. I've been a client of first Snippers (both locations) and Spa801 for over 35 years, and I am going to truly miss this wonderful man. I must have gone thru three or four stylists before Jim bravely took me on. The jokes... the laughter... the guidance... Jim had an enormous impact on me, and as I told him at my wedding, I had such admiration for him as a father, a husband, a business owner... everything he did was with style, taste, humor, and humanity, and he filled a niche in my life as a result. I love you, Jim, and I'm so glad I got a chance to tell you these things and give you a hug on what turned out to be my last haircut with you. May you rest in peace- I KNOW you will. Prayers to you and your family, Marilynn- thank you for opening up your hearts and home to my family and I (and the band one Christmas!) over the years!

Dear Marilyn, Heidi, Gretchen & Grands,
We are so sorry for your loss of this great man who loved his family and life with such passion. We, like so many others, have lost a dear friend and will miss him always. For the past 28 years seeing Jim every 5 weeks has been part of my life even for the years I lived in Spring Hill. Jim was dearly loved because he loved all of us. Rest in peace dear friend.

Marilyn and Family,
What a great 11 years I had with Jim. He was such a great man. Always so polite and caring. I am blessed beyond words to have met him and you. You will forever be a part of my family.

1For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.
Love you both!

Dear Marilyn, Heidi, & Gretchen, and beloved grandchildren,
My heart goes out to you for your present loss of Jim/your dad/granddad. He was one of my favorite people and I am sad to know that I won't be seeing him when I come into the shop every 6 or 8 weeks, as I have done for the last 40 plus years. The obituary was spot on for this great guy! You were all very blessed to have shared your lives with him and you will always have that blessing. How very fortunate you are to have that.
My thoughts and prayers go out to you.
Martha

I cannot find the words to express how I feel. Jim did my hair for what seems like forever. Every five weeks, I would head over to Snippers and later, Spa 801, where Jim and I would tell each other off color jokes, spar over politics, compare our latest travels, discuss food and drink and brag about our kids. He was my friend and I loved him. He will be missed. Tonight, Jere and I will make a "perfect" manhatten, a Jim suggested cocktail, and toast this one-of-a-kind man.

Jim and Marilyn had been a big part of my life ! Most memorable is the time he was doing my hair for my wedding, and someone forgot my bra to wear under my wedding dress!! He and Marilyn then proceeded to "do" all of my bridesmaids hair while we were waiting!!! The very essence of this loving couple!!! Needless to say my bridesmaids looked extra beautiful than they already were!!! Be at peace my friend! And may your family take comfort in all the lives you made special by your touch!!!

Words truly underachieve when trying to express (in a few sentences) what Jim Bockover brought to us in this lifetime. I had the honor knowing him for over 50 years, as one of the few great men I grew up around in this life. His charisma, passions, sense of humor, and down-to-Earth personality were just a starting point for appreciating him..but it was his heart that defined him. He was never at a loss to express his genuine unconditional love and care for you, as Jim always made you feel special to him. Best example? How he especially cherished his wife and children with every ounce of his soul, something you saw in his blue eyes every time he would look at them. It made you humble to know how big his heart was....and feel blessed that you were part of it as well.

When reflecting upon Jim, I can't recall anybody else who embodied the spirit of "boldly living life" so strongly, and making the moments count....especially within his family. It's a torch and challenge he now passes onto us to do as we reflect in this moment of loss. Love more, live more, and "never give up".

Thank you, Jim, for the wonderful memories, inspirations and love. Your soul & spirit will always shine on within us.

Now my father is with our father. He is one of the two greatest men of my life! I am so blessed to have had two dads and Jim has shown me so much that I can never be thankful enough to tell, but, I can show what he has done for me in my daily life as I walk as a husband to his daughter, a dad to his grandchildren and as a shield and to his wife and other beloved daughter. My soul is ever touched and brightened with my time with him. I will fulfill my promise to you, my northern light! I love you with all of me. Chris
