Boosalis, James Michael, "Jim", age 81, of Minneapolis, went to be with the Lord, surrounded by his family on September 9, 2025. Preceded in death by his parents, Michael D. Boosalis and Martha Canelake Boosalis; brother Peter M. Boosalis. Survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Elaine; children, Andrea Boosalis Pfleider and Michael (Maggie) Boosalis; grandchildren, Reinnen and Tatum Pfleider, Blake and Blair Boosalis. Niece's Stephanie Stephenson, Krisanthya Reiman, Valerie Comprelli and nephew David Boosalis. Jim was born February 29th, 1944 (Leap Year) and raised in Minneapolis. He graduated from Washburn High School where he was involved in football and hockey. Jim graduated from the University of Minnesota where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity and spent time on the Gopher hockey team. A devoted fan of Hockey - especially the Gophers. In 1965 Jim met Elaine, the love of his life at a church basketball tournament. They married in 1970. He spent over forty years of his career in the Graphic Arts business, where Jim felt he was fortunate to meet and work with some of the best people you could know. One of the greatest joys of his life are his children and grandchildren. Nothing could make Jim smile more than the grandkids. A life-long member of St. Mary's Greek Orthodox Church where he served in the Summer Camp program, taught Sunday School, Youth Director and as a member of the Board of Trustees. He decided early on that life is full of ups and downs, but you should have fun along this journey we all take. He tried to do this in everything he did. Jim will be remembered for his most amazing and positive spirit. Survived by many cousins, godchildren and lots of wonderful friends. May his memory be eternal. Visitation 5-7pm (Trisagion Service starts at 5pm) Tuesday, September 16th at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, 5000 West 50th Street, Edina. Funeral Service 11am Wednesday, September 17th with visitation beginning at 10am at St. Mary's Greek Orthodox Church, 3450 Irving Avenue South, Minneapolis. Interment Lakewood Cemetery. I had the pleasure of working beside Jim at Braemar, and I truly enjoyed his personality, candidness, and honesty. He always had a story to share, whether it was about the happenings on the course that day, an interaction with a golfer, or a memory from his career and family. He had such a warm and genuine way with people, and he never failed to remind me how old he was! He had such a sharp wit!

I´ll really miss seeing him. One day the first year of working him one or two times, by chance, I ran into Jim in the bakery section at Byerly´s in Edina. We ended up standing there for 45 minutes just talking about life and cookies. It was clear the staff knew him too.. he had that kind of presence: approachable, kind, and always open to conversation.

Jim, you will be missed. See you on the next turn. May God bless you and your family.
