Northport Funeral & Cremation Service family extends our warmest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the family of Mr. James Brown, who passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, in Tuscaloosa, AL.
Mr. James E. Brown transitioned at home on September 24, 2025 surrounded by love and filled with unwavering faith. Mr. Brown was fifth born to his late parents Lawerance Brown and Hellen Collie on September 16, 1928 in Gordo, Alabama.
Deacon Brown devoted his life to Christ and was a proud member of Baptist Home Church in Reform, AL. He also spent many years workingfor McShan Lumber Company and in his prime enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a wise, proud, and loving father of six children.He was proceeded in death by his wife Ms. Annie Mae Brown, two sons; Gene Allen Brown and Charles Brown, and daughter Dorothy Mae Brown.
Mr. Brown leaves to cherish: One son, John Brown & two daughters; Ora Lee Brown Kirksy and Mary Jo Brown of Reform, AL. His 8 grandchildren: Carpree Betts, Charles Brown Jr., Jeffery Henderson, Atoyot Betts, Shunterrica Corder, Dewon LeGrone, Maurice Corder, and William Betts; 16 Great grandchildren; and 3 Great- great children.
Visitation for Mr. Brown will be held Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 2:00PM - 5:00PM at Northport Funeral and Cremation, located at 505 1st Avenue West, Reform, AL 35481. The funeral service will take place Friday, October 10, 2025 at 11:00AM, at Baptist Home Church at 355 Reform Gordo Road, Reform, AL 35481. Mr. Brown will lie in state one hour prior. Followed by burial at Oak Hill Cemetery.
