James "Buddy" Edward Vines of Selma, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at his home at the age of 84.
He was born in Alabama to the late George E. Vines and the late Naomi L. Chandler Vines.
He was an electrician by trade.
"Buddy" had a true and genuine love for the Lord. He was a proud member of the Stanton Bible Methodist Church in Stanton, Alabama. Even in his last days, nothing mattered to him more than making it to the church to be in worship. He loved his fried chicken and french fries. He was loved by his family, his church, and his friends. His perseverance is a true testament of, 'fighting the good fight." He will be missed by all.
He is survived by his children, Teresa Lynn Eiland, Linda "Lulu "Andrews and Jessica Vines; grandchildren, Jeffrey Eiland (Lauren) and James Maxwell Eiland (Ashley); great-grandchildren, Ansley Eiland, Kaylee Eiland, Draycen Eiland, Reagan Eiland; and granddog, Sam; siblings, Berry Vines (Pat), Betty McKey, Billy Vines (Carol) and Melinda Fancher (Bobby); his special friend, Joan Colburn; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He is preceeded in death by his wife, Delaine Vines and his parents, George and Naomi Vines.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 11:oo a.m. from the Chapel of Selma Funeral Home with Rev. Logan Sankey officiating.
Interment will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Eiland, Jamie Eiland, Robert Fancher, Robbie Fancher, Scott Mitchell, Keaton Jones and David Vines.
Honorary pallbearers will be Draycen Eiland, Charles Harrison and Joe Harrison.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Final care and arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Selma Funeral Home of Valley Grande, Alabama.
