James R. Buffington, age 78, of Dawson County, GA, passed away on June 16, 2025. He was a long-time member of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Cumming. James loved watching “Cowboy” movies and wrestling on T.V. He took his grandchildren to watch wrestling with him. He enjoyed cutting grass, eating out, and looking at the computer. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ann Buffington.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Buffington; daughter, Teresa (Davin) Kates; grandchildren, Tyler Kates, Sarah Kates (fiancé Jonathan Warden); sisters, Robbie (Herschel) Hall, Becky Shoaf, nieces, Allison (Micha) Baumann, Corrie (Andrew) Stuttaford, nephew, Christopher Hall; great nephew, Harold Stuttaford.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Bud Sutton and Rev. Garry English officiating. The interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and again on Friday, from 11:00 AM until the hour of service.
