James “Jimmy” Buoni passed away on January 20, 2024 in care and surrounded by family. 

James was born in Columbus Ohio on February 10, 1945; the youngest of five children to Frank and Claudia Buoni. 

James was preceded in death by his parents, three older brothers Alfred “Fred”, Rudolph “Rudy”, Ronald “Ronnie” and his only sister Elisa.

James is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Theresa (O’Connell), His two sons Anthony (Kim) and Frank (Anne). His Grandchildren Annamerinda (Jay), Angelo (Samantha) and Nico (Rebecca) as well as his greatest blessings his great grandchildren Vera and Vinny. 

In addition to immediate family James is survived by close friends Nolan and Carol Spears, Serena and John Warden, Dave and Joan Harris, Jean French, many Nieces and Nephews, and his additional son in love Bill (Bobbie) Loar.

James Buoni, fondly known as Jimmy, Dad, Paw Paw and Pop Pop leaves behind a legacy rich in nostalgia and hard work. Born into a family of painters, Jimmy cherished his upbringing, often reminiscing about the joy of working alongside his father and older brothers.

Throughout his life, Jimmy exemplified a remarkable work ethic, serving as an inspiration during his years at the Big Bear Warehouse, as a dedicated home painter, and in later years as a dependable babysitter for his grandchildren. His commitment to excellence shone through in all facets of his endeavors.

Jimmy’s vibrant personality was marked by a great sense of humor, a contagious boisterous laugh, and an unparalleled gift for gab. He never knew a stranger, making connections effortlessly with those around him. His infectious spirit created a warmth that endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A man of diverse interests, Jimmy found joy in westerns, Andy Griffith, and classic crime movies. His hobbies included collecting knives and classic bikes, attending auctions, exploring flea markets, and indulging in garage tinkering. Each passion reflected the depth of his character and the breadth of his curiosity. However, above all, Jimmy’s heart belonged to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Whether watching movies or exploring parks, he followed their lead with unwavering enthusiasm, especially if it led to sharing clown cone ice cream – a simple joy that encapsulated the love he had for his family.

James Buoni, the godfather of the family, was a true gem. He was adored by his family while his presence will be greatly missed his legacy lives on in the memories of those he touched. He will be forever cherished for his dedication, humor, and the love he shared with all who were fortunate enough to be a part of his life.
