James “Butch” Harvey Strickland, 82, of Wilson passed away Sunday. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. Rev. Wayne Whitley will officiate.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road, Wilson.
Butch is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Blalock and husband, Travis; grandsons, Drew Denton and Chase Denton; sisters-in-law, Debbie Saunders and Aliene Waston, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-two years, Kay Watson Strickland; parents, James Vernon Strickland and Edith B. Freeman; sisters, June Hawley and Frances Cole; brother, Rudy Strickland and his fur baby, Peewee.
