James Carson Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 27, 2026.
James Henry Carson III, of Pasadena, Maryland, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on January 20, 1950, in Baltimore, Maryland, James lived a life marked by dedication, resilience, and authenticity.

James is survived by his beloved children Michele Jackson, Kimberly Wolfe, and James Carson IV, who continue to carry forward his legacy. He leaves behind cherished siblings Cecelia Messenger and Joe Carson, as well as his loving grandchildren Mark, Joshua, Jessica, Glenn, Shaylynn, Ashton, and Brenden. His memory will also be kept alive through his great-grandchildren Kylie, Emma, Joshua Jr., Colton, Olivia, Sofia and Jaxon.

He was preceded in death by his devoted parents, James Henry Carson Jr. and Carvilla Carson, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms in the afterlife.

A proud member of the Merchant Marines, James served his country with honor and dedication. His professional life was spent as a Maintenance Engineer, a role in which he exemplified hard work and integrity.

Outside of his professional commitments, James found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid cook, who loved nothing more than whipping up a meal for those he cared about. James cherished the warmth of the sun and could often be found sitting outside, enjoying the vibrant dance of squirrels in the trees. Known for his stubborn tenacity, he walked to the beat of his own drum and was admired for it by all who knew him.

James will be remembered as a good man, a loving father, a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, a caring brother, and a devoted friend. His spirit and humor will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 30th from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD 21122 where a service will take place at 8:00 pm. Interment is private.

Rest in peace, James. You lived a full and impactful life, and you will be dearly missed.
