Cumberland, MD – James "Jimmy" Robert Cartwright, Jr., 68, of Cumberland, MD, passed away Monday, February 26, 2024.
Born December 20, 1955, in Cumberland, MD, Mr. Cartwright was the son of the late James Robert Cartwright, Sr. and Johanna (Dyer) Brown. He was also preceded in death by his brother: Edward Dyer; his sister: Carrie Barbie; his infant son: Jesse; and his granddaughter: Skye.
Jimmy was a truckdriver, and owned two of his own trucks for several years. He was a member of the Goodfellowship Club, and loved going fishing with his grandchildren: Dylan, Olivia, and Madison.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 38 years: Karen Cartwright; his daughter: Carmel Baker and husband, Rick; and Royale Miller; his step-son: Andy Beeman and Terega Jessie; his step-daughter: Carrie Beeman; his sisters: Lena Cartwright and Todd; Gloria Cartwright; Beth Livingston and husband Kurt; and Susan Robinson and husband Dave; his brothers: Gene Cartwright, Stephen Westfall, and Paul Westfall; his step-mother: Martha Cartwright; his step-sisters: Peggy Patrick and husband, Reggie; Sandy Nikitish and husband, Andy; Becky Cartwright, and Bonnie Cartwright; his step-brother: Albert Cartwright; as well as his nine grandchildren: and his canine companion: Neekie.
No services are scheduled at this time.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to help offset the expenses.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to UPMC-Western Maryland Home Hospice for all the care and compassion given and also to his sister, Gloria, for taking care of him during his illness, it is greatly appreciated!
