I´m so sorry to hear of Jim´s passing. I have fond memories of watching him pitch for the Blue Jays growing up, and hearing stories from my family-especially knowing he was part of our Kammer side. He will be remembered with pride and affection.

With sympathy,

May the Peace that passeth all understanding be with the Clancy family at this time. Jim And I were two of the original Blue Jays in 1977. Jim was an exceptional pitcher with a good fastball, change up and a wicked split finger fastball. I caught Jim in the bullpen when not playing RF, LF or DH. Jim was quiet, dedicated to the game we both loved and a team player. If you put him with any upper division team his first 10 years..his record would have matched any top pitcher in any league. I never saw Jim in any negative behavior and was proud to be his teammate. I will pray for him often.

Jim brought energy, commitment, and quiet leadership to everything he did. That´s what makes any team stronger and gains the respect of his teammates. Jim walked that path well.

My entire family have been huge Blue Jays fans since 1977 (I was 13 years old that season) and we all have great memories of watching him pitch. I was on the Blue Jays ground crew from 1981 to 1985 and loved to watch Jim going about his business. Also, I lost my wife to pancreatic cancer in 2018, so I know how fast and devastating that can be.
