James Lee Coe, age 64, of Springfield, KY, formerly of Bellefontaine, OH passed away at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, October 23, 2025 at the Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.
He was born December 13, 1960 to the late James L. and Donna Marie Barrow Coe in Lynnwood, California. He was a retired union pipe fitter, a martial arts instructor for many years and was a grandmaster in martial arts having three black belts and was a two time world champion in his weight class.
Preceding him in death was a son, Corey Stewart and a daughter, Heather Coe.
Survivors include his wife, Brandi Walker Coe; four sons, Christopher Coe of San Diego, CA, Stephen Coe and Chris Herring (Mary) and Cody Walker all of Bellefontaine, OH; five daughters, Rebecka Jessop (Nathan) of Dearborn, MI, Desiree Furton and Tonya Stamper both of Michigan, Wanita Mays (Rick) of West Virginia and Sabreena Warren of Fairborn, Ohio; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews; three brothers, Mitchell Coe (Rickii), David Coe and Patrick Coe all of California; his chosen family, Linda and Jerry Stotler of Springfield, KY and Stacee Winchester of Tehachapl, CA as well as the many people he met and mentored through the martial arts program at Sheeley's Iron Tiger Martial Arts Studio in Bellefontaine, Ohio.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation was chosen and a celebration of life will be held at a later date in Bellefontaine, Ohio.
