In Loving Memory of James Colgrove May 29, 1951 – July 31, 2025 Jim Colgrove, a husband, father, grandfather, passed away at the age of 74. Jim is survived by his wife Linette, along with their two children, Ryan and Amber, and grandchildren, Colette and Clark, who were the light of his later years. Born in Vancouver, WA, Jim grew up with a love for family. Though he lived to see Vancouver grow into a bustling city, Jim always remembered it as the country town of his youth. Jim had a prolific career in heavy construction and traveled around the country, contributing to several large infrastructure projects, including the parallel crossing of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Jim lived a life full of adventure. He enjoyed skiing and sailing, and he spent time deep-sea fishing and logging - never one to shy away from tough work or wild places. In retirement, he found joy in quieter moments: jigsaw puzzles, barbecues, macramé, and time spent with his children and grandchildren, who always knew him as the fun loving center of the family. He leaves behind a legacy of resilience, humor, and hard-earned wisdom. Jim will be remembered for his sharp wit, work ethic, and the love he poured into his family. He will always be in our hearts. A private celebration of life will be held with close friends and family.

Jimmy was my favorite step child. I´m so glad we were in contact with each other through the years, I will miss our occasional phone conversations, I already miss him!

Jim had a bit of a gypsy heart and traveled a lot with his job. We spent time together in many states and no matter where, it was always an adventure. His focus was always on family and fun no matter the place, and what fun we had! From one end of the country to the other, we made memories that I will never forget. I Love You brother, Teresa

In the mid 1990's my family moved to the East Coast for my husband's job and Jim and Linette welcomed us with open arms. They lived in New Jersey at the time. They took care of our 1 and 2 year old kids while my husband and I "hit the big apple" for the day. When we got back they had not only shown our kids a wonderful day, but made a video called "Baby's day out." It was a little montage of their day and all the things they did. Jim loved family.
