James "Jim" R. Comber, Sr., 76, of Sherman, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at St. Vincent's Hospital. He was born in Jamestown on January 25, 1949, to the late Elwood L. and Mary M. Williams Comber.
A man who adored his family, Jim loved nothing more than spending time with his tribe. He could often be found playing cards and had a fancy for fishing.
Jim had an affinity for old country Westerns as well as Elvis Presley. His beautiful voice will be remembered by many through his countless years of singing at church.
Lucky the dog, Jim's best bud whom he cherished his days with, will remain a special part of the entire family's heart.
Before retirement, Jim held many jobs surrounding the tool making industry; proudly, he spent many years at both Crescent Tool and Weber Knapp.
Jim will be missed by his wife, Helen Seekings Comber; his brother, Gene (Kathy) Comber of Jamestown; his sister-in-law, Dannette (Phil) Kimmy of Erie, PA; his brother-in-law, Andy (Robin) Seekings; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother, David Comber.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 5-8pm Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Lind Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family graciously accepts donations to offset the funeral costs.
