James Richard Coulter, 87, of Elizabeth, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Elizabeth.
He was born on September 22, 1937 in Louisville, Kentucky to Elmer and Addie (Taylor) Coulter. Along with his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn; brothers, Elmer, Bobby, Harry, Edward Coulter; and sister, Irene Gray.
James is survived by his daughters, Teresa Sutton (Mark), Brenda Wenning, Debra Woods; son, James Coulter II (Lynn); 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
James' wish was to be cremated. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany).
