James Crumbacker Obituary

On Thursday, September 11, 2025, James Thomas Crumbacker, passed away at Carroll Hospital in Westminster, surrounded by his loving family. Born on Monday, November 30, 1942, in Frederick, he was the son of the late Frances Crumbacker Shaffer. In 1960, he graduated from Francis Scott Key High School. James was a hard and dedicated worker throughout his life. He worked for 45 years for Taney Supply Corporation, completing both specialty and millwork with ease. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching the Baltimore Ravens and Nascar, spending time in his recliner, and woodworking. He is survived by his loving, sole companion Barbara Tackett; stepdaughter, Pam Baker; grandsons, Dylan Baker and Dalton Baker; siblings, Diane Green and husband, Louie; Debbie Green and husband, Fred; cousins, Kim Cauliflower, Tim Cauliflower, Jr., and Krystal Hahn Miller; and four (4) nephews. James was predeceased in death by family members, Addie Crumbacker, Catherine Baker, Linda Sherfey, and Todd Baker. Family will receive friends on Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 136 E. Baltimore Street Taneytown (21787). Funeral service will begin promptly after at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025. Interment will follow the funeral service at Grace U.C.C. Cemetery, 47 W. Baltimore Street, Taneytown (21787).
