I just learned of Jim's passing. Our lives crossed only briefly back in California in 1973 when Jim, Neal Cutler, and I car-pooled from our homes in the South Bay area to our work at the University of Southern California. Jim as at the Annenberg School and USC while Neal was part of the Andrus Gerontology Center. I wish we could have stayed in touch since Jim was the kind of person one wanted to know. My sincere sympathies to Jim's wife and family.
