James E. Davis, age 53, passed away at Jennie Edmundson Hospital on March 23, 2025.
He was born July 10, 1971 in Harlan, IA. Jim grew up very active in Cub and Boy Scouts. He graduated from Shelby Tennant with the class of 1989. During high school he participated in football, wrestling, track, and swing Choir. He proudly served in the Iowa Army National Guard. Jim was currently employed at Scoular Elevator in Hancock.
Jim was preceded in death by his son, Caleb Davis; grandparents, Lee & Neva Manz, Shirley Davis, and Merle Lamp; brother-in-law, Kris Bramman.
Jim is survived by his sons, Calvin (Ashlynn), Clayton (Sami), and Carter (Malloy); parents, Craig & Ronda Davis; grandfather, Rex Davis; sisters, Wendy (Mike) Jorgensen and Jamie Bramman; companion, Wendy Nevins and her children, Benjamin (Jenna) Nevins, Kasie (Brandon) Nevins; Wendy's grandchildren that knew Jim as "Papa", Jake, Bella, Max, Miles, Willow, and Paul.
A reception and celebration of his life will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Shelby Community Building on Friday, March 28, 2025. Please come dressed causually in Hawkeye or your favorite team apparel.
