James William Davis, 85 of Abingdon, Virginia died July 22, 2025, at his residence. A native of Giles County, Tennessee was born March 9, 1940, to Turney and Virginia Smith Davis. Retired from Bell South. What he loved most was farming, raising beef cattle and trail riding as much as he could.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Noble, Cecil, Norman and Joe Wayne Davis. Sisters, Sarah Pilkinton and Myrtle McNeese.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Davis of Abingdon, Virginia, Sister, Eilene Dale of Pulaski, Tennessee. Brothers-in-law, Kelly (Debra) Riddle, Castlewood, VA., David (Paula) Riddle, Gate City, VA., Sisters-in-law, Louise Davis, Lynnville, TN and Norma Johnson, Santee, SC, special nephews, Larry (Karen) Davis, Canton, GA., Barry (Connie) Davis, Pulaski, TN., Josh (Dawn) Riddle, Abingdon, VA. and Jorrdan (Erika) Riddle, Castlewood, VA. Special care takers, Teresa and Preston Boyd.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2025, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service & Crematory. A second service will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home 1228 E. College St. Pulaski, TN. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. with a service to follow at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Giles Memorial Gardens 140 Bethal Rd. Pulaski, TN.
