James R. Davis

James R. Davis, a proud son of St. Louis, Missouri, was born on September 1, 1939, and passed away on October 24, 2025, in Lake Saint Louis, Missouri. He lived a life full of dedication and love, enriched by family values, community service, and a profound commitment to his country.

Jim's professional journey led him through various banking and credit companies, always striving for excellence. However, it was his time at Mallinckrodt Nuclear that he took the most pride in; he worked as a technician with diagnostic products. His roots in education began at Roosevelt High School, where he graduated in 1958, laying the foundation for a life marked by continuous learning.

In 1961, Jim answered the call of duty by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps, embodying the patriotic spirit that defined much of his life. He was a conservative Christian who spent his younger years volunteering for political campaigns, reflecting his commitment to civic engagement while running a few local campaigns himself.

Outside of his professional and civic duties, Jim found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time with his grandchildren during their formative years, sharing moments that would shape their futures—hunting, fishing, and telling stories. He had a great passion for reading and enjoyed watching football and was even a season ticket holder for many years, where he cheered for his team, "the Big Red" with fervor.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Jan Davis; his daughter, Kim (Joe) DeLuca; and his cherished grandchildren: Joe (Kaylee) DeLuca, Angie (Kyle) Adams, Tony (Madi) DeLuca, and Johnny DeLuca. He was a proud great-grandfather to Cash DeLuca, Avery Adams, and DeLainey DeLuca, with joy on the horizon as another great-grandson is expected to arrive in January. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Catherine Davis, and his beloved soul dog, Shana, and many close friends and family members.

A visitation will be held on November 9, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, followed by a Celebration of Life from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM. Friends and family are invited to join in remembering a man whose spirit was as boundless as his love for those around him. Jim Davis will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
