James de la Cruz Tablazon III

James de la Cruz Tablazon III, 71, of Clifton, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025. He was born on November 6, 1954, in Culion, Palawan, Philippines, and built a life marked by dedication, hard work, and deep love for his family.

Before immigrating to the United States, James served as a pastor alongside his father and brothers, traveling throughout the Philippines to share the Gospel.

James worked for many years as a mechanic with the New York MTA, where he was respected for his skill, reliability, and steady nature. He carried the same commitment into every part of his life, always putting family first and offering help to anyone who needed it.

Throughout his life, James could often be found singing while tending his vegetable garden-two passions that brought joy not only to him but to all who heard his voice in the church choir or received a basket of his homegrown tomatoes.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Luzviminda Budhi Tablazon; his daughter, Jocelyn Pappalardo and her husband, Jonathan; his son, James Tablazon IV and his wife, Alicia; and his cherished grandson, James V. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled in them: kindness, perseverance, and the importance of family.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 3:00–5:00 PM at Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave, Clifton, NJ 07013. James will be cremated in accordance with his and his family's wishes.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beth Israel Worship Center or Touch the World, organizations meaningful to the family.
