Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cavanagh-Patterson Family Funeral Home - Media on Dec. 19, 2024.
James Francis DiLalla of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away on December 16, 2024 after a lengthy illness. He was 85.
Jim was born in Clifton Heights, PA to Peter DiLalla and Mary (DiNicola) DiLalla. He lived in Clifton Heights all his life until he retired from Amtrak and then moved to Delaware.
He enjoyed living in Rehoboth and cherished his home and life with his spouse and best friend of many years, Fred Episcopo. He loved his home and it was a very sad day when he had to leave it behind because of his declining health.
Jim had a talent and a love for nurturing flower and vegetable gardens. He was a long-time parishioner of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Lewes, Delaware and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was the first in his family to graduate from High School and to get a college degree.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Mary (DiNicola) DiLalla, his brothers John and Peter, his sisters Anne Lister and Yolanda Szcepanek and his spouse Fred Episcopo.
He is survived by his niece Patty Dougherty and her husband John and their family. Jim was not alone when he passed. He was with family, surrounded with loving care in their home.
Goodbye, Uncle Jim! You were loved and will be sorely missed!
His funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 23, 2024 at Nativity BVM Catholic Church, 30 E. Franklin St., Media, PA 19063. Interment SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
