n 1956 Jim and I were seniors on the Hillsboro baseball team. He was a talented catcher who could hit with power and consistency. He was also talented defensively and was a positive inspiration to me trying to throw strikes to his glove. It was a privilege to keep in touch a lifetime even although we were so many miles apart. Peace Jim

Jim is my cousin. My family used to go to the Doeden family farm around Hillsboro when I was younger. It was a good time until it was cow milking time. It never failed that the Doeden boys squirted us with cow milk. Not fun. Then we would have a good meal before going home. Only thing about the meal was the milk we were served. Warm cows milk. We went to Grandma Doeden's place in Hillsboro for our Doeden reunion a few times many years ago. We would play baseball with all the cousins. Not sure if it was Jim who hit me in the eye with the bat. Of course that could have been another cousin. I survived Didn't see Jim much in later years. A few years ago we went to Hillsboro to see and hear Jim sing at our Doeden reunion. That was a good time. He did a really good job. RIP cousin Jim. Love cousin Ver

Jim was a great country singer and entertained us many times; at the community center, on Festival events and multiple locations around Fountain Hills. He was a kind and caring person in real life as well. He will be missed by the whole community.
