James D. Doucette of Brewster, formerly of Reading passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Sunday, February 16, 2025. He is 77 years of age.
Born on Saturday, November 15, 1947 in Stoneham, James is the loving son of the late James Doucette and Gertrude (Cavanaugh) Doucette. James is a warm, kind, gentle and loyal son, husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed.
James proudly defended our freedom by serving in the United States Marine Corps from 1967 - 1971. He is a former employee of Verizon Communications and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Boston.
James is the beloved husband Ruth (Corrigan) Doucette. He is the devoted father of Jeffrey Doucette, Kristofer Doucette and his wife Dawn and Laura Downey and her husband Kevin. The cherished grandfather of Charlotte Doucette, Owen Doucette, Connor Downey and Nathan Downey, James is also lovingly survived by many friends who will truly miss him.
Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with James’ Family on Monday, February 24th from 4-7pm in the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden Street READING. Parking attendants and elevator are available.
A Funeral Ceremony Celebrating James with be held on Tuesday, February 25th at 11am in the Funeral Home.
