JAMES J. DOWD

DOWD, James J. James J. "Jimmy Joe" Dowd, eldest son of the late Patrick and Margaret (Behan) Dowd, a lifelong native of Dorchester, passed away December 4, 2025. He was 92 years old. James was predeceased by his beloved wife, Margaret (Carroll) Dowd, of Rutland, VT. He was the devoted father to Maureen of Maine and to Kevin and his wife Kathy Dowd of Weymouth. Brother of Edward Dowd of Braintree and the late John Dowd of Peabody. He was the loving "Grumpy" to Jake, Jack, Kathleen, Maggie, Mary Kate, and Seamus, all of whom brought him immense joy. He will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews, whose accomplishments and loving natures filled him with pride. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the Visiting Hours on Sunday December 14, 2025, from 3-6 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Funeral Service will be celebrated on Monday December 15, 2025, at 10:30 AM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy. Private Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, at a later time.
