James Britten Dunn

James Britten "Jimmy" Dunn, a skilled welder, respected foreman and devoted business agent for Pipeliners Local Union 798, passed away surrounded by loved ones.

Born with a strong work ethic and a passion for craftsmanship, Jimmy dedicated his life to the pipeline industry and his family.

Beyond his professional life, Jimmy was a loyal friend, husband and devoted family man. He cherished time spent with those he loved, whether on the job site, at card playing, cookouts or sharing stories about growing up in Velvet Ridge. His humor, grit and generous spirit will be remembered by all who knew him.

Jimmy's legacy will live on through his wife of 65 years, Melba Mason Dunn; his daughters, Tanya (Phil) Weygandt and Jamie (Kenny) Landis; grandchildren, Krystal, Jimmie Dale and Cameron; great-grandchildren, MaKinley, Dawson, Hanna and Haden and 6 great- great grandchildren.

Jimmy was 83 years old when he passed to be with our Lord on February 6, 2026 at his home.

Jimmy is also survived by 2 brothers, Danny Dunn and Tommy Dunn; 1 sister, Glenda Dunn McDougal. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hasten and Geraldean Dunn; 2 sisters, Norma Dean Dunn Carter and Debbie Dunn and 2 brothers, Ronald Dunn and Steven Dunn.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, February 9, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Bald Knob with Glen Knabe officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Velvet Ridge Cemetery.
