James Peter Durkan passed away on July 30th, 2023 at 7:21 A.M. at Calvary Hospital. Jim came into this world on May 28th, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York. He leaves behind his wife Mary, son Patrick and Patrick's wife Amy and beloved granddaughter, Marilyn. He also leaves behind his sister, Margaret Rissier Moss and her husband Len.
Jim was a Brooklyn boy through and through. He proudly played sandlot baseball with the Cadets through high school in Marine Park with Joe Torre and other future major league players.
Jim's loves included art, history, opera and travel but his true love was politics. He was proud to be an Honorary Usher at St. Patrick's Cathedral. Jim headed his own business, Madison Financial Concepts, a financial planning company for many years.
In lieu of flowers the family would like Masses to be said for the repose of Jim's soul and/or donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital -.
