Gloria, Robbins and family, as we have all been taught, weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. May each of you be comforted by your faith in God and the wonderful family memories made with your beloved husband and father. His work on this earth will truly speak for him to those who knew and cherished his presence. Thank God for putting James in our lives.

To our family members: we would like to extend our sincere condolences to you all. Although our hearts are heavy we can rejoice in knowing that the Shepherd has taken one of his own sheep to the pasture. Our goal now is to make sure that we live a life worthy of the Lord's approval so that we may see James again in that sweet by and by. Family be strong and of good courage. We know that EARTH has no SORROW that HEAVEN cannot HEAL. We know that James is resting in the ARMS of God. Our love and prayers are with you all. We will be in touch. Love your cousins "Weezie and Chis'."!

To the family of the late Mr. James C. Edwards, c/o Mrs. Gloria L. Edwards, I extend my sincere condolences upon hearing of "Mr. Jim's" transition from his earthly shell to his Heavenly Home. Do find consolation that he is resting in the arms of our Heavenly Father from whom all blessings flow. "When praises go up, blessings come down."
He will be sorely missed.
Prayerfully,

I will forever hold James and his dear wife, Gloria, in my heart as wonderful people, dedicated to each other and to Morris Brown Church and the community.
James has gone into another realm in the Time/Space Continuum where there are no pain or suffering nor struggling to go through this world of darkness. We know that he has bid us a Goodnight-Morning in the eternal realm, because when you face the SON, you can never see shadows, only eternal Light.
He is free and unlimited, and nothing can bind him. Sing, James, like a meadowlark as you were always known to do. Music blesses our soul, because by nature, we are music, and we were blessed by your voice, music, person and soul.
Gloria, I shall think of you and James as two inseparable people of character that made a big difference in Charleston. This community loves you for that. Tell your sons that I take the liberty to stand in the gap and utter these words in behalf of Charleston as a whole.
When things settle from the crisis, I shall call upon you to do a face-to-face greeting. Until then, God be with you to comfort and keep you. You will see your loving husband again, I can guarantee that to you. He would not forsake you that blessing. We are more alike than not, I am giving you a personal experience message.
To the boys, they had a great father, and I believe they know it. May they be forever blessed by his love for them.
May there be "no wild tears" for him.
