FERGUSON, James Edward – of Otisville, MI, age 69, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 212 Center Street, Otisville, MI 48463; Rev. Fr. Kenneth F. Coughlin celebrant. Interment immediately following the Mass in St. John Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 1-7 PM Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road,
Davison, MI 48423 and 10-11 AM Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, in Jim's memory.
Jim was born in Flint, MI on July 8, 1955, son of the late Kenneth and Rosemarie (Quaderer) Ferguson. A proud graduate of Davison High School, Class of 1974, Jim was a member of the wrestling team and built friendships and memories that lasted a lifetime. He joined the family business, Ferguson Block in
Davison, MI, where he worked with unwavering commitment for almost 40 years before retiring in 2008. His work ethic and dedication were hallmarks of the way he lived his life. Jim found joy in life's simple and meaningful pleasures. He had a green thumb for growing tomatoes, a knack for small engine repair, and a special love for riding motorcycles and spending time on his tractor. Known for his delicious grill cooking, Jim cherished time spent at family gatherings - sharing stories, laughter, and good food with those he loved most. On August 25, 2007, Jim married Tammy, the love of his life, in a beautiful ceremony in Otisville, MI. Their marriage was filled with warmth, companionship, and shared adventures. Jim's legacy is one of dedication, humility, and deep-rooted love for family and the simple pleasures of life. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him and will be dearly missed.
Jim is survived by his wife, Tammy Ferguson; daughter, Amanda Ferguson; 4 grandchildren, Cole Bennett, Gavin Schieber, Theodore Epperson and Aurora Schieber; 2 step-children, Courtney (Rick Schieber) Bourassa and Kaylee (Nick Epperson) Bourassa; 9 siblings, MaryLou (Charles) McCarter, Charles (Linda) Ferguson, Kenneth Ferguson Jr., Ann Ferguson, Thomas (Joanne) Ferguson, Richard (Susie) Ferguson, Nancy (Phil) Kus, Kathryn Ashworth and Lynne (Ken) Travis; brother-in-law, Steve Scharrer; close family friend, Kathy Schupp; many other loving family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Rosemarie Ferguson; 4 sisters, Rosemarie Ferguson, Theresa Ferguson, Genevieve "Jenny" Scharrer and Sally Whitney; 3 brothers-in-law, Arthur "Bud" Whitney III, Don Ashworth and Wayne Ellis.
