Graveside services for Jim Fields, 73, of Pryor, will be held on Tuesday, February 15 at 2:00 PM at Graham Memorial Cemetery in Pryor. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 5-7 PM at the funeral home. Services are under the care and direction of Stephens-Key Funeral and Cremation Care in Pryor.
James Albert "Jim" Fields was born on September 3, 1948 in Buckeye, Arizona to Henry and Clara (Woolbert) Fields. He passed away on February 8, 2022 in Tulsa at the age of 73.
Jim grew up in Arizona and lived there until he entered the Army. He lived in Jay, Oklahoma for a few years after his time in the military but later ended up back in Jay in 1974 and stayed there until he moved to Kenwood in 1987. He moved to Pryor in the late 1980's and remained here until his death. He worked as a diesel mechanic for his whole life. He was known to be a workaholic and always had to be busy doing something. He worked for Cardox at the industrial park in Pryor for several years, and then retired in 1994 due to his declining health.
When Jim wasn't working, he was still "working", doing other things he enjoyed such as building cabinets and also enjoyed making wooden toys.
Jim started dating Linda Biscorner in 2010 and they later married on February 25, 2016. They enjoyed traveling in their RV to many different places around the country. They always pulled an ATV when they travelled and one of their favorite things to do was going riding in the desert. He also loved to tinker in his shop at home.
Jim was never really an animal person, but after Linda became part of his life, he had a schnauzer mix, Chugley, a rescue dog, that he loved dearly. He wasn't a real cut-up by nature, but he liked telling jokes. He was a wonderful husband, dad, poppy and provider to his family. He will be greatly missed by all those who shared in his life.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, of the home; two children, Jeanie Rogers of Claremore and James Fields Jr. and wife Carrie of Pryor; three grandchildren, Lindsey Watters and husband Zach of Claremore, Bayleigh Fields of Pryor and Brittany Stokes of Pryor and also his lifelong friend, Johnny Bittick of Killeen, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Velma, Betty and Margaret and twin brother, John.
