James F. Fitzgerald, age 68 years, of Huntsville, Tennessee died Sunday, July 21, 2024 at the Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.
He was born in Oneida, Tennessee on November 6, 1955 the son of the late John and Elsie (Jeffers) Fitzgerald. James had been a coal miner and worked in the sawmill and was a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Spending time with his family, fishing, singing, sports, Tennessee Football “All Vols”, but most of all he loved the Lord, going to Church, and talking to people about the Lord were his favorite things to do in life.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wives, Betty Muse Fitzgerald and Betty Privett Fitzgerald; brothers, Bill, Larry, and Oris Fitzgerald, a sister, Teresa Smith; and a brother-in-law, Roger Bowling.
Survivors include his children, Roger Fitzgerald (Angela), Tommy Fitzgerald, Sharon Fitzgerald (Jason), and Amy Day (Tim) all of Huntsville, Tennessee; stepsons, Mark Muse (Treda), Matthew Muse, Luke Muse, Estil Privett (Renea), Dustin Privett (Sara); grandsons, Peyton Mason (Rebekah), Zack Jones, Kayleb Woodward, TJ Fitzgerald, and Holden Fitzgerald, granddaughters, Megan Miller (Cale Phillips), Annalyne Woodward, Taylor Mason (Cole Sexton), Ava Fitzgerald, and Mea Fitzgerald; great-grandsons, Levi Mason and Andrew Williamson; step-grandsons, Josh Muse, John Muse, Wesley Muse, Bretlee Privett, Conner Privett, Ruben Privett, Dusty Privett, Hudson Privett, and Tanner Privett; step-granddaughters, Christian Duncan, Whitney Byrge, Jennifer Muse, Michelle Muse, BJ Muse, Adaya Muse, and Allie Privett; sisters, Lefa Bowling and Ella Black (Carl); brother, Estel Jeffers (Linda) ; brother-in-law, Johnny Smith, sister-in-law, Carol Fitzgerald, and many other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dustin Privett, Estil Privett, Peyton Mason, TJ Fitzgerald, Rocky Bowling, Arnold Bowling, and Kayleb Woodward.
Funeral services will be held 5pm Thursday, July 25, 2024 at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Huntsville, Tennessee with Bro. Carlie Duncan and Dudley Harness officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 2pm Thursday at the Church.
Pine Knot Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
