I flew with Jim as his First Officer on the B-727 with Carnival Air Lines on numerous trips. Jim was personable and enjoyed mentoring his subordinate pilots. On one of our trips to Havana, Jim told me about his intense multi-day B-52 mission during the `Cuban Missile Crisis´ where he and other BUFF flyers lurked in holding patterns off the Cuban coast while loaded for war. RIP.

Jim and I met on a blind date to play bridge in 1964 and were married in February 1965. We had five children and a full life for over 33 years and even though we were not still married we remained best friends till his last day and he will be in my heart forever. I´ll always remember that he always made me feel like I was special because to him I was. Hope to see you again soon love

My heart goes out to the entire Fitzpatrick family. I will be forever grateful to the parents of my dear friend Katie, who brought her into the world. Wishing everyone a peaceful heart and a flood of happy memories.
