Dear Chris and family,
I was so sorry to read about Jim`s passing this week. I knew there had been some challenging times, but I don´t think I would have survived at Eisenhower without his kindness and patience. I even switched majors from international political science to Jim´s field because he just was so wonderful to work with and so supportive. I especially loved going to India with him and with Murli. That was such a memorable experience!! At one point in my senior year, I decided I wanted to leave school and return to India. Not having a car that moment I decided to hitchhike into town and he gave me a ride. I honestly think he was concerned about my safety and wasn´t sure I was telling him the full story of where I was going and how I was going to get there. I ended up hitchhiking about an hour west of Seneca Falls, and realized it was not really the wise thing to do in the evening. So I felt I could call him and he did come in pick me up and took me back to school. Needless to say, I didn´t ever do that type of thing again as I realized it was not safe!!
Thanks to his attention to detail details and being very observant, he noticed that the post office was accepting seasonal workers in the summer; and in order to qualify they had a program going that they would use your average in college to give you a rating so that you did not have to take the postal exam. He knew that I had a good enough average to qualify and probably get a job, and he knew that I needed to work in the summer. I took his advice and ended up having a wonderful summer job all my years there as well as one Christmas I was employed for delivering packages. It was a financial lifesaver.
I certainly do know after a lifetime of healing that he is definitely going forward and being just as gracious as ever and loving you all as much as ever!!
So grateful for knowing that he had such a wonderful marriage and blessed family life. My only regret is that we didn´t get back to see you all during our years in Tampa and our trips to Maine, but I´m so very grateful for your one visit to Tampa.
With much love to all of you-Jill Levin Stilton

Chris and family members,
I am so sorry for your loss. I remember Jim fondly from our days as faculty at Eisenhower College. He was a good friend and a fine teacher. Mild mannered, and always a gentleman; I remember him blushing when a female faculty member made an off color comment. Remember the good times.

May Jim's memory be a blessing. I had him for 3 courses my junior year at Eisenhower plus a January Independent Study term in 1971.
