James Olin “Jimmy” Flinn, III of Moorefield, WV passed away Sunday afternoon at home with his loving family at his side. Born on July 30, 1944, in Petersburg, WV, he was the son of the later James Olin “Jim” Flinn, Jr. and Mary “Aletha” Arnold Flinn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Mark Flinn, a brother, Ronald Flinn and a sister, Joyce Wolfe.
Jimmy was a shining example of what it means to cherish those around you. He found immense joy in watching his children and grandchildren grow, cheering them on in their various activities, and simply being there to enjoy life’s moments. You could always find him at his son’s garage, surrounded by laughter and stories, or mowing his lawn to perfection, all while wearing that signature smile of his.
Jimmy was a free spirit with a passion for the open road, having spent many years behind the wheel for Flinn’s Trucking, Sky Trucking, and Pilgrims. His life was a journey filled with adventure, making connections with friends along the highways and byways.
He leaves behind his wonderful wife, Janet Faye Haggerty Flinn; sons, James “Jamie” Flinn, IV of Moorefield, WV Jeff “Shorty” Flinn of Moorefield, WV and Derek (Letasha) Flinn of Rio, WV; daughters, Missy Flinn (Tim Phares) of Maysville, WV, Jodi Flinn of Moorefield, WV and Julie (Jeremy) Vetter of Moorefield, WV; a brother, Jackie (Linda) Flinn of Romney, WV; a daughter-in-law, Lara Flinn Tanner; grandchildren, Dylan (Hunter) Flinn, Sumer (Jesse) Miller, Caleb Flinn, Kaden Flinn, Danika Vetter, Bria Vetter, Ivy Flinn; great-grandchildren, Wren Flinn & Maverick Miller along with a host of nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews.
