James Foster Obituary

James embraced his faith at an early age and was baptized, joining Mt. Gazerine Baptist Church. Throughout his years of membership, he served as a Deacon, Trustee, and Sunday school teacher, remaining active until his health declined. James was also a dedicated member of the W.H. Hughes Masonic Lodge.
In July 1978, James married the love of his life, Joyce Easter. He dedicated 20 years of service to Lee Industries and later contributed another 16 years to Philip Morris before his medical retirement.
James is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Joyce, and his aunts Edna Morgan, Doretha Herndon and Mary Lou Green.
He is survived by his two sons, Michael (Marriettie) and Carlton (Amy), his cherished grandchildren Shikirah, Marquell, and Michela, step-grandchildren Jay and Vivian, and great-granddaughter Eva. James is also remembered fondly by devoted cousins Linda Diane Glover, Joyce Green, G. "Bootsie" Stewart, Connie Scott, Lee Scott Jr., and Shiras Craig. He leaves behind in-laws Lula Grant, Gracie Beasley, Betty Fulgham (Jeff), Helen Jefferson (Howard), George Easter, James Easter (Mary), Richard Easter (Diane), as well as his special friend Catherine Goode. James is further survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
James E. Foster will be remembered for his unwavering faith, dedication to his community, and the love he shared with family and friends. May he rest in eternal peace.
