Buckmiller Ford Mengacci Funeral Home - NaugatuckNaugatuck, CT James Edward Grant, Sr., 72, husband of Mary R. (Drown) Grant, died peacefully on March 1, 2026 at St. Mary’s Hospital.
James was born July 24, 1953 in Waterbury, CT a son of the late Edward and Joyce (Goodale) Grant. James was a lifelong Naugatuck resident and he retired from Pastanch in Naugatuck, where he had worked as a plant manager.
James loved his family, animals, boating, fishing, camping and enjoying a cold Schaefer beer and a Winston cigarette.
In addition to his wife Mary, James is survived by his daughter, Tammy L. Grant; his son and daughter in law, James Edward Grant, Jr. and Carolyn Grant; his grandchildren, James Edward Grant, III, Matthew Joseph Grant, Aaron Fitzpatrick and Samantha Fitzpatrick; his sister and brother in law, Terrie Hildreth and John Hildreth and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Jim was predeceased by his sister, Dottie Descouteux and his brother, Robert Grant.
Family and friends will gather on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00pm, with a Prayer Service beginning at 6:45pm at the Buckmiller Ford Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
