James John Grogg

James John Grogg, of Perryville, MO, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023 in Rolla, at the age of 87.
James was born to the late Percy Grogg and Sybil (Colbert) Grogg on August 21, 1936 at home on Kaskaskia, Island, IL. On April 26, 1958 he married his best friend and love of his life, the late Rosalie Blanche (Hudson) Grogg.
In addition to his parents and wife, James was preceded in death by his sister, Ellen Louis (Grogg) Cissell.
James enjoyed spending time in Branson with Rosalie, taking trips to see his children and grandchildren, relaxing and riding his 4 wheeler. His favorite pastime was sneaking off with Liz and getting a vanilla shake from Sonic during their weekly trips to the store. Dad was very proud of his grandchildren and loved spending time with them and enjoyed going out to eat with the family and having new adventures every day. His most treasured recent memory was having the honor of walking his granddaughter Liz down the aisle at her wedding last fall in her grandmother's wedding dress.
James will be greatly missed by his surviving family which includes: one son, Major (RET) Douglas Grogg and his wife, Angela Grogg of Rolla, MO; one daughter, Angela Marie Aurich and her husband, Darvin Aurich of Flat River, MO; seven grandchildren, David and Hope Carroll, Heather Taylor, Randi Aurich, CPT Amanda Grogg and CPT Ryan Williams, Pyper and James Brady, Elizabeth and Colton Headrick, and SSGT Joshua and Roxane Kooijman-Grogg; seventeen great -grandchildren, Tristen, Autumn, Lillyanna, Damien, Ariel, Lane, Brantley, Everly, Lennon, Noah, Andrew, Nathan, Hannah, Sara, Rachel, Madeline and Johnathon; his dog, Sam; and a host of other family and friends.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
