James Gronseth, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather departed this life on Thursday, November 30th, 2023.
James' family will always remember him as an intelligent man of so many interests and talents, combined with a strong belief in God and family. He honorably served in WWII in Europe as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army. Upon his return to the states he attended college at Michigan Tech, graduating with honors obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1949. He was a Professional Engineer (PE), teacher, author, mathematician, and most importantly our Hero. At the same time, the father most people think only exist in movies and television.
James and his beloved wife Monica raised 9 children, with 3 boys and 6 girls, all of whom truly loved their parents and were inspired to achieve all they could in life to make their parents proud. James and Monica were the love story people dream about. They truly gave their hearts to one another and spent 60 years of their lives totally in love. For all the years they were married they set aside a half-hour together each evening, just the two of them, talking over their day, enjoying a joke or two, or just holding hands this they claimed was the secret to their successful marriage. They never took each other for granted and always ensured each knew how much they were loved and treasured. Monica left this world exactly 15 years to the day before James passed away. The family knows that they are together again with God in heaven, looking down with pride at the family they created with their love. James left this world with his children at his bedside, all sad to know his life had come to an end, but happy that he and Monica could once again be together to continue their love song into eternity.
James is survived by his beautiful family, Daniel (Diane) Gronseth, Dennis (Bette) Gronseth, Mary Jo (John) LaBarber, Gary (Connie) Gronseth, Gayle (Greg) Stengel, Barbara (Mike) Harvey, Patty Bednar, Janet (Dan) O'Halloran, and Nancy (Gregg) Morgan. Also survived by 22 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Visitation on Saturday, December 9th, 2023 from 9:00-10:15 am at St. Mary Catholic Faith Community Church, 9520 W. Forest Home Ave., Hales Corner, WI. Funeral Mass at 10:30 am, with Military Honors accorded. Private burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery to follow.

To the family of Jim Gronseth...My sister Kathy just let me know about Jim's passing. I am sad to hear this news, but know Jim, along with Monica, will always remain in my heart and mind. So many fond memories flood my mind of our families time together at Little St. Germain Lake/Ryckaert's Resort. I feel so fortunate to have met Jim, Monica, and the tribe of 9 children. May God bless all of you, and yes, Jim is now with his Monica...Sincerely, the oldest of the Radostits kids, Bob
