James Hardwick Obituary

Mr. James Carroll Hardwick, Jr., age 68, of Aynor, passed away at his residence on Thursday, March 5, 2026. Mr. Carroll was the husband of Mrs. Debbie Hardwick and the son of the late J.C. and Donnie Ruth Hayes Hardwick. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one uncle, Tommy Hardwick. Mr. Carroll was a member of the Masonic Lodge #381. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed trips to the mountains with them. Mr. Carroll was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish, as well as work with wood. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Debbie Hardwick; one son, Jason Hardwick; one daughter, Michelle Hardwick; three grandchildren, Gage Rabon, Caleigh Hardwick, and Jackson Carroll Hardwick; two brothers, Ricky Hardwick (Debbie) and Jeffery Hardwick; and two sisters, Pam Dyson (Stan) and Shanda Allen (Al). The family of Mr. Carroll would like to express a special thank-you to the Amedisys Hospice staff, especially nurses Adalyn Hopkins, Brittany Johnson, and Salonda Myers. The family will receive friends at Evergreen Freewill Baptist on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 2:00 – 3:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Miles officiating. The burial will follow at Aynor Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be made in honor of Mr. Carroll Hardwick to the ALS Foundation, www.als.org/ways-give.
