” Robert Harris of Sibley, Louisiana passed away peacefully at age 82 on July 11, 2025, in Heflin, Louisiana surrounded by his family. Born on November 6, 1942, Jimmy was the eldest of eight children. From a young age, he took on the role of protector and provider, laying the foundation for a life marked by hard work, integrity, and love. He led by example, teaching six children the importance of doing what’s right, standing by your word, and putting family first. He was a man of great honesty and quiet strength, never seeking recognition but always earning respect.
He spent the last five and a half years living with his daughter Anita and her husband Keith allowing countless memories to be made with family and friends. They took excellent care of him through his cancer treatments and kept their promise that he could remain at home until the end.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bernice Harris, brothers, Billy Harris, Tommy Harris and Terry (Linda) Harris, and great-grandson, Michael Gordon.
Left to cherish his memory include his six children, Jemme Lynn Dyess and husband Marty of Cleburne, Texas, Michael Harris and wife Suanne of Heflin, Linda Watson and husband Danny of Doyline, Richard Harris and wife BJ of Dubberly, Anita Rhodes and husband Keith of Heflin, and Mary Harris (Brian). Three sons he considered his own, James (Trina), Thomas (Jessica), and Paul Hodges. He will be remembered as a wonderful Papaw by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Brothers, Dannie Harris and wife Pat of Doyline and Benny Harris and wife Jane of Heflin; sisters, Carolyn Sikes and husband Leroy of Minden and Virginia Carter and husband Ricky of Doyline; sisters-in-law, Sandy Harris and Francey Harris, and several other relatives and friends
Pallbearers will be Jacob Chance, Nathan Harris, Zachary Hooper, Adam Harris, Nathan Allen, and Caleb Conditt.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Chance, Avery Harris, Taylor Hooper, Ethan Harris, Wade Rhodes, Marty Dyess, Carl Rhodes, Jerry Bates, J.D. Hobbs, and Brian Conditt.
The family would like to thank Dr. Koticha and his team at Highland Clinic as well as St Joseph Hospice, nurses Mary Blake, Caisey and Peyton Gray for the great care received.
Visitation for Jimmy will be held Monday, July 14, 2025, from 4:30 till 8:00 p.m.at Rose Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden, Louisiana. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden with Bro. Jeff Flenniken officiating. Interment will follow at Doyline Cemetery in Doyline, Louisiana.
