James Allen Harris, age 75, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025, at Hazard ARH Regional Medical Center.
Born in Evansville, Indiana, he was the son of the late Hubert and Reba Herron Harris. A skilled mechanic, James had a deep appreciation for the ocean and a lifelong love of cars, bikes, and even his chickens. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy Harris, and sisters, Joyce Harris Miller and Virginia Harris.
He is survived by his children, Angel Harris, Virginia Coffey (Bryan), Billie Spray (Leslie), Jamie Harris, Glenda Harris, and Brentley Blevins; 14 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; sister, Sue Wagers; and brother, Dennis Harris.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where his funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025.
Burial will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily, Kentucky.
