James Thomas Hepp, Sr., age 81, of Herrickville, PA passed away Friday, September 19, 2025 at the Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY.

Jim was born on January 15, 1944 in Phoenixville, PA. He was the son of the late Onetta Flasher Hepp and Robert Hepp, Sr. He was a graduate of Wyalusing Valley High School with the class of 1962.

He married his high school sweetheart, Donna Knolles on March 21, 1964 and together they raised three children on the Hepp-Haven family farms. The first farm was in Herrickville, PA the second farm was in Meshoppen, PA, the third farm was in Mainesburg, PA, then they returned to Herrick Township in 1990.

In addition to farming Jim also was a truck driver. He hauled gravel and stone owned a garage on Route 6 and hauled to P&G.

When he was in Mainesburg besides farming he hauled cattle from Canada to Texas and Massachusetts to Kansas. In addition, he hauled veal calves to Formula 1 from 1981-1990.

He loved his wife, children, and grandchildren. He also loved his farm and tractors. He milked from 1960-2010. The milk was shipped to Shefield, Eastern, Polly-O, Land O lakes and to Horizon Organic from 2005-2010.

In 1981 he bred an All-American Cow, named Hepp-Haven Lisa of Pinehurst. Jim also worked for Auto Express and was a Teamster.

Jim as a member and Trustee of the Camptown Methodist Church. He was a member of IOOF Lodge 1152 and Farm Bureau. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards, racing cars, camping and square dancing.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Knolles Hepp; his children, James Hepp, Jr., and his wife Christine, Brenda Hepp, and Michelle Hepp Hanley; his grandchildren, Allison Hepp (fiancé, Mike Woehrer), Madelyn Hepp Cooper (Nick); his sisters, Bessie Quintangeli (Vincent) and Emma Jane Karpp; her brothers/sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Winkler, Peggy and George Coulter, Denice and Rick Spivak, Lloyd and Peggy Sue Knolles, Jr., Steven Knolles, Frances Julius, and Virginia Pipher; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother and his wife, Robert and Patricia Hepp, Jr .; his son-in-law, Joshua Hanley; and his brothers-in-law, Robert Karpp and Eugene Winkler, Sr.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 11:00 AM from the Camptown Community Church, 5109 PA-706, Wyalusing, PA with Reverend Helen Learn of the church officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025 from 3:00-5:00 PM at the Sheldon Funeral Home, 155 Church St., Wyalusing, PA and on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at the Camptown Community Church from 10:00 until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Camptown Methodist Church, c/o Debbie Frederick, 1226 Ballibay Road, Wyalusing, PA 18853 or to H.O.P.S. Ambulance Association, 6185 Herrickville Road, Wyalusing, PA 18853.
