James Earl Hickman, 85, a beloved father & grandfather, was born on September 25, 1938 and passed away on January 29, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. James lived in D'Iberville, Mississippi for over sixty years, but frequently visited his family in his hometown of Greenville, Alabama

He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Vallie Hickman; his wife, Josephine (Queenie) Hickman; and his brother-in-law, Johnny Atchison. 

James is survived by his brother, William Hickman (Phyllis) and sister, Kathy Atchison, both of Greenville, Alabama, as well as his only son, Leonard Hickman (Karen) of Vancleave, Mississippi. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jessica Poulos (Cody), Jillian Poulos and Jerrica Cain (Travis) all from Vancleave. James leaves behind multiple nieces & nephews and six great-grandchildren, Emaleigh Poulos, Reighlyn Poulos, Kenzleigh Poulos, Greighsyn Poulos, and Layton and Hawley Cain.


James recently retired from ISCO Metals, where he happily worked for over thirty-four years. He was a hardworking individual, always busy with tasks such as mowing the lawn or working on various projects around his house with his tractor.

A celebration of James's life will be at Bradford-O’ Keefe Funeral Home, Oceans Springs, Mississippi, on Friday, February 2, 2024, between 6 pm and 8pm.  He will be laid to rest in Greenville, Alabama at a later date.
