James Gregory Hinson, Jr.

James Gregory Hinson, Jr., affectionately known as "LG” to his friends and “Bubba” to his family, passed away on August 4, 2025, in Woodruff, South Carolina. Born on February 13, 1982, in Greenville, SC, LG was a man whose passions and intellect touched the lives of all who knew him.

To say LG was a unique and remarkable individual would be an understatement. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and resilience. LG’s memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories told and the lives he touched.

LG shared a beautiful marriage with his beloved wife, Crystal Brown, and their bond was further enriched by the joyous companionship of their puppy dog, Ollie Pop. He was the cherished son of Tina Ballew and Greg Hinson, and a supportive and loving brother to his sisters, Leah McCall, married to Michael, and Samantha Brown, married to Looper. He was an adored uncle to his nieces, Makenzie Densmore, Khloe McCall, Emily Beaman, and Haydon Looper, and his nephew, Connor Beaman. Each family member found in him a source of endless humor and love.

A man of diverse interests, LG had a fierce passion for low riders, car stereos, video games and fishing. He was a wonderful listener and always gave the best advice. Often known for his tough love, he was actually a big squishy teddy bear at heart. His quick wit and humor will always be missed.

As we bid farewell to James Gregory Hinson, Jr., know that his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us, and his memory will forever be etched in our hearts. Though he has left this earthly realm, the essence of who he was—a tenacious, funny, and intelligent man—will never fade.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 2 PM, at the Cremation Society of SC - Westville Funerals, 6010 White Horse Rd, Greenville, SC 29611.
