James Edward "Fuzz" Howard, 68, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Oakwood Community Living Center in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Born Wednesday, January 30, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late James Eugene Howard and the late Geraldine Kimbrough Howard. Mr. Howard was a retired correctional officer at Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville, Tennessee.

Known to many simply as "Fuzz", he was an animal lover with a gentle, generous spirit who would do anything to help others. Fuzz had a deep appreciation for music-especially classic rock. Rush's 2112 was his all-time favorite, and Neil Young ranked a close second. He was also a devoted fan of the Tennessee Vols Football Team.

A Celebration of Life Visitation for Mr. Howard will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Pounders Howard of Newbern, Tennessee; two sons, Trevor Howard (Kelsey) of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Jimmy Perry (Amber) of Kenton, Tennessee; two sisters, Janice Howard of Newbern, Tennessee and Laura Gail May (Robert) of Newbern, Tennessee; two brothers, Kevin Ray Howard (Tina) of Nashville, Tennessee and Gary Howard (Diane) of Nashville, Tennessee and four grandchildren, Cali, Raylyn, Marvin, and Emma.
