James Leland Hudgens, affectionately known as "Jimbo," was born on July 1, 1957, in Nashville, Tennessee. He was a beloved husband, father, and a cherished friend to many, known for his outgoing personality and joyfulness that never failed to brighten the day of those around him. Jimbo spent his life in various industries, ultimately retiring from AT&T as an E911 Project Contractor.

As a proud graduate of the Antioch High School Class of 1975, Jimbo made his mark not just in academics but also as a member of the wrestling team, showcasing his tenacity and spirit from a young age. Following his education, he cultivated a colorful life filled with laughter, love, and a wide array of interests. His passion for cooking often earned him the title of grill master among family and friends, gathering loved ones around delicious meals that he so joyfully prepared.

Jimbo had a deep love for Harley-Davidson motorcycles, embracing the freedom they symbolized. Music filled his heart, as did playing cards with friends and family—activities that were enriched by his exuberant spirit. He was a man who never met a stranger, welcoming everyone with open arms and infectious laughter.

On March 31, 2025, Jimbo passed away unexpectedly at his home in Gallatin, Tennessee. He leaves behind a loving wife, Sondra Hudgens, who was his partner in life’s adventures; a daughter, Tatum Johnson (Ben); and a grandson, Dixon Johnson. Jimbo is also survived by his siblings, David Hudgens (Donna), Jeff Hudgens (Vicky), and Judy Felker (Terry), along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom will carry his memory forward with love.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Sue and T.D. Hudgens, whose love and guidance shaped the man he became.

A celebration of Jimbo's life will take place on April 13, 2025, at Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside in Hendersonville from 2:00 - 7:00 P.M. where friends and family will come together to honor the incredible legacy he has left behind. Jimbo's bright spirit and joyful heart will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to live on in the stories shared and the love he so generously gave. A Masonic Service will take place Sunday at 4:30 P.M. conducted by members of the Mt. Juliet Lodge # 642 F & AM.
