James "Jim" K. Huffer, 66, Windfall, passed away at 8:28 PM Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at I.U. Heath, Tipton Hospital. He was born August 21, 1945 in Kokomo, Indiana to the late Ralph S. A. and Polly E. (Calhoun) Huffer. Jim graduated from Sharpsville Prairie High School in 1964. He also served in the National Guard. Jim worked from 1964 until retiring in 1996 from Delco Electronics. He attended Rock Prairie Church. Jim was an avid sportsman; he especially enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling. Surviving is a brother and a sister-in-law; Robert E. and Susan Huffer, Sharpsville, sister and brother-in-law; Debbie and Mike Harrison, Sharpsville, brother-in-law; Eugene Smith, Kokomo. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Jim raised three of his great nephews; Caleb, Andrew and Zachary Huffer. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister; Sonjia Smith and one brother; Allen R. Huffer. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, March 12, 2012 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, with Reverend Kevin Carr officiating. Burial will follow at Nevada Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2-8 PM Sunday at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be directed to either Rock Prairie Church or to the American Heart Association, envelopes will be provided at the mortuary.
