James Brinnie Hunt Sr., 81, of Danville VA, passed away at his residence on Monday, March 20, 2023. Born on November 28, 1941 in
Lexington, NC, son of the late Marie Virginia Cross Hunt Davis and Charlie M. Hunt. He was employed in construction as a superintendent, and he was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, watching racing, and visiting with his family, especially his many great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn "Gayle" Hunt. He is survived by his sons, Jeff Pruitt (Patsy) of Axton, VA and Jay Hunt (Dana) of Blanch, NC. He is further survived by his brothers, Wayne Hunt (Brenda) and Jerry Davis; his sister, Sue Martin (Jeff) and Linda Davis; his grandchildren Casey Scruggs (Andrew), Elizabeth Surface (Nathan), Katherine Hubbard (Carl), and James Hunt, III; his great-grandchildren, Brantley and Colton Hubbard, Louis Milam, Anakin Surface, Caroline and Addilyn Scruggs.
A memorial service will be held at Norris Funeral Services, West End Chapel, Danville VA on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jeff Lynch officiating. A visitation will follow the service at the funeral home, at other times, family will be at the residence of Casey Scruggs, 4152 Westover Drive, Danville VA
