MUNROE FALLS - James M. Iona, 66, died unexpectedly on November 21, 2025.
Born in Ravenna, Jim was a graduate of Stow High School, attended the University of Akron, and was a real estate broker and owner of JMI Realty, Inc. Jim was a very active member of the community, including as member of Munroe Falls City Council, Akron FOPA Lodge #6, BPOE (Elks) #1923, and Sons of the American Legion.
Jim was also a board member of North Akron Chamber of Commerce, former president of Italian American Professional Businessman's Club, former president of the North Akron Chamber of Commerce, past president of the Akron Crime Clinic, liaison for Cleveland Browns for community events, and president of Akron Browns Backers for ten years.
Preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Carmella Iona, he is survived by his son, Nick Stanick; brothers, Tom Iona and Russ Iona, as well as his beloved nephews, Anthony Iona, Tyler Klingelhoffer, and Bryan Clark, and great-nephew, Weston Clark.
Friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow 44224, for visitation on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 4 to 7 PM.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church, 3179 Kent Road, Stow 44224, at 10 AM, on Saturday, December 6, 2025.
