James Richard Jackson

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of James Richard Jackson, affectionately known as Rich, on April 19, 2025. Rich passed peacefully at the Macky and Pam Stansell House holding the hand of his beloved wife, Rena. Born on January 13, 1951, in Salisbury, MD, he was the son of James G. and Letty Carey Jackson. A graduate of Stephen Decatur High School, he furthered his education at St. Mary's College of Maryland. Rich and Rena were the proud owners of the Seaside Motel in Fenwick Island, DE. After selling the business, Rich worked as the "summer keg guy" for Worcester Beer/Budweiser and later for Delaware Parks and Recreation.
He is survived by his wife, Rena Pastoria Jackson, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Phillip and Caroline Pastoria of Mt. Lebanon, PA, along with nieces and nephews and his beloved kitty boys, Guido and Louie Jackson, who miss him terribly.
We need to remember Rich as he was: gym rat, sports junkie, athlete, genuine, compassionate, witty, funny, smart, friendly, kind, always helpful with financial tips, a charming man and a really great husband who left an indelibly mark on the lives of many. His legacy will be cherished and remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
